Description: This training will introduce various empirical, quantitative methods that can be to estimate the impact of a specific policy intervention. These methods can be referred to as “programme evaluation”, “impact assessment”, “causal estimation” or “impact evaluation”. The training covers the evaluation problem, and how randomized experiments solve the problem, an intuitive explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of matching, including propensity score matching; quasi-experimental methods such as instrumental variables; and difference-in-differences.

Topic 2: Methods of Impact Evaluation
Topic 3: Implementation of Impact Evaluation
Topic 4: Getting data for Impact evaluation
Target Group: The training is suited to academicians, research analysts, consultants-impact evaluators, and researchers.
Requirements: A minimum of BA/BSc degree in economics and related discipline with basic background in statistics and exposure to econometric analysis. The training assumes basic statistical knowledge covered. Trainee should bring personal laptop computer.
