The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) has successfully organized its 20th International Conference on the Ethiopian Economy from July 21-22, 2023. A total of 480 participants including high level federal and regional government officials and participants from different regions of the Ethiopia and other countries (USA, UK, France, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and Rwanda) attended the conference. The conference covered welcoming and opening speeches, recognition ceremony, a keynote speech, panel discussion, seven plenary presentations and 32 presentations on breakout sessions.
Dr. Amdissa Teshome, President of the EEA, delivered a welcome speech in which he acknowledged the presence of two distinguished senior government officials: the guest of honor H.E. Ato Mamo Mihretu, Governor of the National bank of Ethiopia (NBE), and H.E Prof. Berhanu Nega, Minister of Education. He gave highlight of EEA research and capacity development activities and thanked UNICEF, World Bank, United Nation Economic Commission for Africa, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, International Growth Center, European Union, and Oromia Planning and Development Commission for sponsoring the conference.
