The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) held policy dialogue forum on December 1, 2022, at Inter Luxury Hotel, Addis Ababa. The objective of this workshop is to validate two final research reports.
Prof. Mengistu Ketema, the CEO of the EEA, delivered a welcome address and opened the event. On the occasion, Prof. Mengistu briefed the participants on the major activities of EEA and acknowledged the European Union for sponsoring the research work and the event.
Dr. Hailu Elias from Addis Ababa University presented on Agricultural Finance and Insurance in Ethiopia: Challenges and Policy Options. Following that, Dr. Abebe Damte from Policy Studies institute presented on Green Legacy Initiative for Sustainable Economic Development in Ethiopia.
Dr. Adefres Worku a national coordinator for the Green Legacy initiative at the Ethiopian Environment and Forest Research Institute and Dr. Fetene Bogale from Adama Science and Technology University were the discussants who reflected their views on the research work.
Prof. Belay Kassa, President of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences moderated the workshop effectively and summarized the major outcomes of the policy dialogue forum.
A total of 60 participants drawn from different stakeholders including the House of the People’s Representatives of the FDRE, representative from the Prime Minister Office, representatives from the financial sector, different ministers, CSOs, private sector and EEA members, among others, attended the forum.
