On a meeting called for the Association’s 29th General Assembly (GA) on 26th November 2022, a research work titled “The Economic Consequences of Ethiopia’s Civil Conflict: Initial findings’’ was Presented by Dr. Tadele Ferede from Independent Economic Advisory Council and discussions were made.A welcome remark was made by Dr. Tewodros Mekonnen, the EC member and EJE’s Editor in Chief of the association. About 175 EEA members gathered from different parts of the country attended the event. The presentation was chaired by Dr. Hailu Elias, the executive committee member of the EEA and dean of the College of Business and Economies at Addis Ababa University.On the occasion, the EEA awarded best thesis winners of Dr. Eshetu Chole memorial awards of 2021/22. Mr. Habtu Bogale from Bahir Dar University won the best MSc thesis award, and Mr. Genale Bekele from Bule Hora University won the second best thesis award of the year. Families of Eshetu Chole handed over the financial rewards and certificates to the winners.As the quorum requirement for the GA was not fulfilled, the GA events were postponed to the 10th December 2022 based on EEA’s bylaw.
