The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) in collaboration with the school of Economics, university of Gondar, provided three days long impact evaluation workshop for its members from 27to 29 December 2023 at EEA training hall. The workshop was attended by 32 participants, including one female member from research institutes, Academia, financial institutions, public and private sectors. It was intended to strengthen the capacity of junior researchers, postgraduate students, and faculties on impact evaluation of a development program or an intervention.
The workshop was designed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge techniques and methodologies used in impact evaluation. Its focus was specifically on how to conduct a rigorous impact evaluation method, hands-on exercises, group work and applications using STATA as well as share evidence from the large body of research conducted in Ethiopia and elsewhere in the world on what works to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods.
