The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) organized the second round Coaching and Mentoring (C&M) training for its members. About 20 members attended the training held on Oct 28, 2023 at the EEA training room. We are glad that, in this round, nine female participants attended the training. The EEA will keep on improving females’ participation in the affairs of the EEA. We believe that gender equity can be achieved if we work harder and smarter”.
As the previous experiences, the training began with a discussion on the effectiveness of trainings at national and institutional levels. It was concluded that the training is not enough to achieve the desired goal of professional development. The trainees have suggested a need for continuous coaching and mentoring. Participants were then introduced to the concepts, skills and models of coaching and mentoring. At the end, the trainees were given activities to be completed with online follow and support by the facilitators.
Up on accomplishment of the activities, certificate of completion will be provided to each participant. The third round C&M training will be provided on November 11, 2023. Sileshi Ashine a private consultant and Amdissa Teshome, president of the EEA were the training facilitators.
