Call for Papers

International Conference on the Flotation of the Ethiopian Birr: Economic Implications and Future Pathways January 23–25, 2025 | Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Economic Association (EEA), Policy Studies Institute (PSI), and the Centre for Governance and Intra-Africa Trade Studies (CGIATS) invite submissions for the upcoming conference titled “Flotation of the Ethiopian Birr: Economic Implications and Future Pathways.”

This conference aims to bring together a diverse group of academics, policymakers, and practitioners to examine the potential impacts of currency flotation on Ethiopia’s economy and propose actionable pathways forward. We particularly encourage contributions that explore the macroeconomic, financial, and social dimensions of currency flotation, with a special focus on Ethiopia.
