Description: This training course will help the trainees to produce effective funding proposals by taking them through project proposal writing sessions and exercises. It deals with planning a funding project proposal, writing it, and making a follow-up once it is written and sent off. Trainees get advice on what they need to know about donors and about their own project or organization before writing a funding proposal. It enables to improve participants’ skills in developing quality project proposals; show them how to manage projects within an organization; and help them to understand a project’s value as a tool to achieve and further the organization’s mission.
Content: The training will cover the following topics:
Topic1: Introduction
Topic 2: The grant processes
Topic 3: Anatomy of project proposals
Topic 4: Packaging and submitting proposals
Target Group: This course is aimed specifically to those who do not feel confident about writing funding proposals and who may not have much experience in it. It can be used by individual project managers or by a team committed to increasing the organization’s capacity to raise money. It is useful for those whose organization’s financing strategy includes raising money from donors, those who have a project idea for which donor funding is needed, and those who have been requested by a donor to present a funding proposal for a project.
Requirements: A minimum of BA/BSc degree in economics and related discipline with basic skills; and no software requirement
