It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Associate Professor Getachew Yoseph today, March 12, 2025. A distinguished academic, co-founder and cherished member of the Ethiopian Economics Association, his contributions to Addis Ababa University and the broader academic community have left an enduring impact.
Mr. Yoseph served as an associate professor at Addis Ababa University and researcher at various national and international research Organizations, and was a valuable member of the Executive Committee of the Ethiopian Economics Association from 1993 to 1996. He also made significant contributions as the editor for various publications of the (EEA), helping shape the discourse in the field of economics in Ethiopia.
Throughout his career, Mr. Getachew was a pillar of knowledge, professionalism, and commitment. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide future generations of scholars and economists.
Our thoughts are with his family, colleagues, and all those who were touched by his work and kindness. May his memory live on through the countless lives he impacted.
