Qualitative Research Methode

Description: This training is designed to support planning and designing qualitative research for the training participants. The sessions will provide essential information to participants to conduct qualitative research and analyses. It will able the trainees to analyze and use qualitative research data from secondary and primary sources. The training will employ a combination of interactive and applied techniques to teach knowledge and skills relevant to qualitative research. The trainees will be expected to conduct their own qualitative study. Students will work individually to collect data through in-depth interviews.

Content: The training will cover the following topics

Topic 1: Introducing Research

• Qualitative research
• The nature of qualitative research
• Getting “good‟ qualitative results
• Qualitative data

Topic 2: Methods of Collecting Qualitative

              Data

• Surveys/questionnaires
• Interviews.
• Focus groups
• Observations
• Records/archival review

Topic 3: Qualitative Data Analysis

• Common stages of analysis
• Rules of data analysis
• Types of qualitative data analysis
• Guidelines for qualitative report writing

Target Group: The training is suited to a wide range of professions, including:Social Scientists, development practitioners, students,Academicians and researchers.

Requirement: A minimum of BA/BSc degree in economics and other discipline.

Duration of the Training:  Three days.
