Strategic Partnership for Economic Transformation and Digital Innovation in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia –  January 03, 2025. The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) and ECHO have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in the areas of economic transformation and digital innovation. This partnership aims to foster a more inclusive digital economy by leveraging the combined expertise of both organizations in research, and capacity building.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is made in good faith and reflects the shared commitment of both Parties to advance economic transformation and digital innovation in Ethiopia through collaborative efforts. By formalizing their partnership, the Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) and ECHO aim to leverage their respective strengths to foster a more robust and inclusive digital economy. This MoU serves as a foundation for driving impactful initiatives in research, capacity building, and policy advocacy, with a focus on addressing pressing economic and technological issues.

Both Professor Mengistu Ketema, CEO of the Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA), and Metasebia Kassa, Founder and Managing Director of ECHO, signed the MoU, underscoring the significance of this partnership. They highlighted that the collaboration will play a pivotal role in fostering innovation, enhancing policy dialogue, and building capacity to address critical economic and technological challenges. Additionally, they expressed confidence that this partnership would inspire further engagements, attract key stakeholders, and contribute to sustainable development efforts in Ethiopia.
