The Ethiopian Economic Association (EEA) has organized a half day awareness creation program to Jigjiga University Students on March 10, 2023, at Jigjiga University meeting hall.
The main objectives of the program was to introduce the Jigjiga University CBE staff and students about the Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA). Dr. Oumer Nur, EEA’s Somali region Chapter coordinator has made a welcome remark. In his remark, he has thanked the EEA for the commitment to organize such vital awareness creation program. A total of 60 participants from Jigjiga University CBE staff, and graduate program students and undergraduate economics students attended event.
Dr. Semeneh Bessie, Partnership and Communication Director of the EEA has presented on over view the EEA to the participants. The event has created opportunity to the participants to understand the history of the EEA, overriding strategic objectives, the missions, core values and principles, available research and training opportunities, and membership information, among others.
During the discussion, participants raised important questions that were addressed by Dr. Semeneh Bessie and Mr. Dawit Teshale and from the EEA. The discussion was chaired by Dr. Oumer Nur, EEA’s Somali region Chapter coordinator.
Finally, Dr. Semeneh Bessie has made concluding remarks and closing speech. Semeneh thanked Jigjiga University management who contributed to the successful preparation of the program. He also invited all interested students and staff to become members of the EEA.
