The EEA Signed MOU with Africa in Motion

In a historic move aimed at fostering economic progress and collaboration across Africa, the Ethiopian Economic Association (EEA) and Africa in Motion (AIM) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the 20th of February 2024 EEA’s headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This momentous occasion heralds a new era of partnership between two esteemed organizations committed to driving sustainable development and private sector growth on the continent.

Africa in Motion (AIM) emerges as a pan-African non-governmental organization dedicated to the economic emancipation of the continent through private sector development. AIM’s expertise lies in crafting multi-sectoral programs aimed at generating sustainable employment opportunities across Africa. Notably, AIM has pioneered joint ventures between Dutch and African businesses, facilitating crucial connections between challenges faced by African entities and innovative solutions from Europe.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding between the Ethiopian Economic Association and Africa in Motion marks a pivotal moment in advancing economic empowerment and collaboration across Africa. Through this partnership, both organizations aim to leverage their respective strengths to address key challenges hindering economic progress and to promote sustainable development initiatives.

Under the terms of the MoU, the Ethiopian Economic Association and Africa in Motion will collaborate on a range of initiatives, including joint research projects, capacity-building programs, policy dialogues, and knowledge-sharing activities. During the signing ceremony, Prof. Mengistu Ketema, CEO of the EEA, and Mr. Max Koffi, CEO of the AIM expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership and their shared commitment to driving meaningful impact in trade and economic development across Africa. They emphasized the importance of collaboration, innovation, and inclusive approaches in unlocking the continent’s vast potential for growth and prosperity.
