The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) provided a half day awareness creation program to Jimma University Students on November 3, 2023. The main objective of the program was to introduce the Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) to Jimma University Economics staff and students. Dr. Semeneh Bessie, Partnership and Communication Director of the EEA made the presentation. He emphasized the importance of education and hard work in achieving success in economic discipline. He also encouraged the students to be creative and innovative in their thinking, and critically and solve problems creatively. The event created opportunity for the participants to understand the history of the EEA, overriding strategic objectives, the missions, core values and principles, available research and training opportunities, and membership information, among others. During the discussion, participants raised important questions that were addressed by Dr. Semeneh Bessie and Mr. Dawit Teshale. Finally, Semeneh thanked Jimma University for successful preparation of the program. He also invited all interested students and staff to become members of the EEA. A total of 65 students attended the event.
