Addis Ababa, 29 September 2024 — A key highlight of the Ethiopian Economics Association’s (EEA) 31st General Assembly was the launch of a new book titled “Economic Policy Research and the Culture of Policy Dialogue in Ethiopia: EEA’s 30-Year Journey 1991-2023.” The publication offers a comprehensive reflection on the Association’s three-decade-long contribution to economic research and its pivotal role in shaping policy dialogues in Ethiopia.
The book not only chronicles EEA’s history but also showcases its enduring efforts in promoting evidence-based economic research and fostering meaningful discussions among policymakers, academics, and stakeholders. During the ceremony, Dr. Amdissa Teshome received special thanks for initiating, Authoring part of the book, and coordinating the production of this historical book. In addition, the authors of the book: Mr. Workneh Deneke, Dr. Tadele Ferede, Dr. Rahel Belete, Mr. Fantahun Belew, Mr. Demirew Getachew, Dr. Birhanu Denu, and Addis Kassahun received a certificate of recognition. Moreover, the Editors of the book Dr. Adugna Lemi, Dr. Alemayehu Seyoum Taffesse Dr. Getachew Diriba, Dr. Gezahegn Ayele, Dr. Tadele Ferede, Dr. Tewodros Makonnen and Mrs Rahel Yilma got recognition for their outstanding contribution in making the book a reality
This launch marked a significant milestone in the EEA’s journey, reinforcing its commitment to advancing economic discourse and influencing Ethiopia’s development policies through rigorous research and engagement.
