The Advanced Impact Evaluation Training kicked off on March 11, 2026, bringing together researchers, practitioners, and students interested in strengthening their skills in rigorous policy and program evaluation. The three-day training, running from March 11–13, is organized by the Ethiopian Economics Association in collaboration with Hawassa University.

The training focuses on both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of advanced impact evaluation methods widely used in economic and policy research. Key topics covered include Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs), Difference-in-Differences (DID), Matching methods, Regression Discontinuity Analysis (RDA), Natural Experiments, and Interrupted Time Series analysis.

Through lectures, discussions, and applied examples, the program aims to enhance participants’ capacity to design, implement, and critically interpret impact evaluations, ultimately contributing to more evidence-based decision-making in development policy and programs.
