Hawassa, Ethiopia — March 15, 2026
The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) held an inspirational and advocacy session for students and faculty members of the Economics Department at Hawassa University.
The session was delivered by Mr. Dawit Teshale, representing the Ethiopian Economics Association. During his presentation, he introduced students to the mission and activities of the association and emphasized the importance of engaging young economists in professional networks.
Mr. Dawit highlighted that the Ethiopian Economics Association serves as the professional association for economists in Ethiopia and encouraged students to actively participate in its programs and initiatives. He noted that membership in the association provides access to valuable resources, academic networks, seminars, and conferences that support both academic and professional development.
He also encouraged students to strengthen their membership and actively engage with the association’s activities, emphasizing that such participation can help young economists expand their knowledge, build professional connections, and contribute to discussions on economic policy and development.
The session formed part of the association’s broader effort to strengthen engagement with universities and inspire the next generation of economists to take an active role in research, policy dialogue, and national development.
