The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) and the Ethiopian Pulses and Oilseeds Exporters Association (EPOSEA) have formalized a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and advancing evidence-based policymaking in Ethiopia.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Mengistu Ketema, Executive Director of the Ethiopian Economics Association, and Mr. Edao Abdi, President of EPOSEA, on the sidelines of the Public–Private Dialogue (PPD) Forum on Oilseeds Value Chains in Oromia Region, held in Jimma from 23–24 July 2026. The forum was organized by EPOSEA in collaboration with GIZ and brought together policymakers, private-sector actors, development partners, researchers, and industry stakeholders to deliberate on opportunities, challenges, and policy priorities to strengthen Ethiopia’s oilseed value chains.

As part of the forum, Prof. Mengistu Ketema also served as a panelist in the high-level dialogue session. During his presentation, he highlighted the Ethiopian Economics Association’s longstanding contributions to evidence-based policymaking through applied research, policy dialogue platforms, publications, and capacity-development programs. He further underscored the importance of the pulses and oilseeds sector as a strategic driver of agricultural transformation, export diversification, agro-industrial development, and inclusive economic growth in Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian Economics Association remains committed to building strategic partnerships that promote informed policy discourse and support Ethiopia’s long-term development aspirations.
