Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 11 December 2025: The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) and Awash Bank S.C. signed a Memorandum of Understanding today in Addis Ababa, marking the start of a strategic collaboration. The agreement was signed by Professor Tassew Woldehanna, President of EEA, and Mr. Yohannes Merga, representative of Awash Bank’s CEO and Senior Chief Marketing Officer at Awash Bank.

The MoU establishes cooperation in key areas, including joint policy events, collaborative research, capacity-building initiatives, and information exchange. Both institutions aim to strengthen evidence-based policymaking, promote knowledge sharing, and support national and continental policy dialogues.

The partnership is a voluntary arrangement designed to enhance communication, expand expertise, and contribute to informed economic development efforts in Ethiopia and beyond.
