Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – November 20, 2025: The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) and Industrial Projects Service (IPS) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for collaboration in research, capacity building, policy advocacy, and professional training. The MoU was signed by Professor Tassew Woldehanna, President of EEA, and Shiferaw Solomon, General Manager of IPS, on behalf of their respective organizations.

The two parties highlighted the importance of translating the agreement into an actionable plan to ensure that the objectives outlined in the MoU are effectively implemented. They emphasized that the collaboration will focus on joint research initiatives, organization of seminars, workshops, and events on policy-relevant issues, and the exchange of knowledge and data in areas of mutual interest.

The MoU is designed as a voluntary framework to promote collaboration, information sharing, and joint engagement in activities that contribute to informed policymaking, professional capacity development, and improved economic and organizational outcomes in Ethiopia. Both EEA and IPS expressed their commitment to working closely to ensure that the partnership delivers tangible results aligned with the objectives of the agreement.

This agreement marks a significant step in fostering stronger cooperation between research and consultancy institutions in Ethiopia, intending to enhance evidence-based decision-making, promote policy dialogue, and support capacity-building initiatives across the country.
