Dire Dawa, June 13, 2026 – The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA), in collaboration with Dire Dawa University, conducted a three-day Advanced Impact Evaluation Training from June 11–13, 2026, at the university’s Red Hall.

The training brought together 25 participants(18 men and 7 women), including university faculty, PhD students, development practitioners, and policymakers from the Finance, Planning, and Development Bureau of the Dire Dawa City Administration.

Participants received practical and theoretical training on key impact evaluation methods, including Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs), Difference-in-Differences (DID), Matching Methods, and Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD). Through lectures, discussions, and hands-on exercises, the program strengthened participants’ capacity to conduct rigorous policy and program evaluations.

The training was facilitated by Dr. Molla Alemayew, Senior Researcher at the Ethiopian Economics Association, as part of EEA’s ongoing efforts to promote evidence-based policymaking and research capacity development in Ethiopia.
