Description: The training is designed to improve learners’ academic and practical knowledge of National Accounts. They should acquire acquainted with the system framework, source data integration and balancing, and national accounts data display. The specific goal of this training is to provide newcomers to the field of national accounts with a grasp of the essential principles and structure of the System of National Accounts (SNA). In addition, the goal is to improve participants’ academic and practical knowledge of SNA. They should acquire acquainted with the system framework, source data integration and balancing, and national accounts data display.

Content: The training will cover the following topics:

Topic1: An Introduction to System of National Accounts – Basic Concepts

Topic 2: Macro-economic Framework

Topic 3: Volume Measurement

Topic 4: Supply and Use Tables

Topic 5: Quarterly National Accounts

Topic 6: Sector, regional, and satellite accounts

Topic 7: Financial, Non-financial sector accounts and Institutional Sectors

Topic 8: Production and Output

Topic 9: Relationship between SNA Aggregates – Main Identities

Topic 10: SNA Sequence of Accounts

Target Group: The training is suited to researchers; Academia; Policy makers; Students; Statistician; national accounting experts.

Requirements: A minimum of BA/BSc degree in economics and related discipline with basic knowledge of economics and statistics. Participants expected to bring their personal laptop.
