The Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) and Planning and Development Bureau of the Amhara National Regional State (ANRSPDB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) towards fostering collaborative research, and capacity building in areas of common interest. This landmark agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony held on January 11, 2024, at EEA’s head quarter, Addis Ababa, symbolizing a commitment to joint research projects, knowledge exchange programs, and the sharing of resources and expertise.
Professor Mengistu Ketema, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Association, and Dr. Demeke Boru, Head of the ANRSPDB, signed the MOU on behalf of their institutions. Prof. Mengistu, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This MOU marks the beginning of a new chapter to combine our strengths and resources and tackle complex challenges and push the boundaries of knowledge in evidence generation and capacity building.” Dr. Demeke, also echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the shared vision of the two institutes. “We believe that this collaboration will foster the spirit of cooperation in addressing the evolving needs of the community and various stakeholders in the country,” he stated.
Finally, both parties expressed their commitment to the implement the MOU, recognizing, it as a crucial step towards achieving their common goals.
